Design and class
Nancy dates from the beginning of Olin Stephens’ career and reflects the concentrated design work required by the International Rule.
Her identity rests on the relationship between hull form, displacement, ballast, rig and construction.
Restoration decisions must preserve that relationship while renewing the strength required for continued use.

Archive photographs show Nancy ashore with the hull and deck opened for restoration.
The work renewed structural areas while retaining the established form of the yacht rather than imposing a generic treatment.
