A classic yacht works as a whole. Her structure, rig, fittings, materials and finish all contribute to the boat you see and the way she sails. Good work keeps that relationship intact: preserve what is sound, renew what has done its time, and introduce modern systems or improvements without making the boat feel like something else.

Restoration
Major structural work, reconstruction, complete restoration and refit, including lofting, drafting, timber structures, spars and rigs where required. The scope is set around the condition of the boat and how the owner intends to use her.
Refit
Brookes applies the same skills and experience used to restore classic yachts to refitting GRP and composite yachts and launches, we cover systems, interiors, joinery, coatings, structural work and coordination of specialist trades.
REFITConsultancy
Surveys, acquisition advice, restoration scope and independent project advice for owners, museums, larger vessels and projects requiring an experienced view before major money is committed.

RAWHITI · LOGAN BROS · 1905
Rawhiti — restored and racing again.
Peter led the restoration that returned the 1905 Logan yacht Rawhiti to her gaff-rigged A-class form. Today he co-owns, skippers and races her. The result is a significant yacht back in regular use, not a boat preserved only for display.
CLASS REVIVAL
West Solents. Six Metres. Mullet Boats. Fleets back in use.
In the UK, Peter restored almost half of the West Solent One Design fleet to racing condition. His International 6 Metre work includes Asti V, Piccolo and Nancy. The developing L-class Mullet Boat project applies the same practical idea in New Zealand: protect surviving boats, restore traditional construction and gaff rigs, and return a viable fleet to competition for the Lipton Cup.
