Class context
International Six Metres are rating-rule racing yachts rather than one-designs.
Individual boats differ, but fairness, weight, stiffness, ballast and rig geometry remain central to their performance and class identity.
Peter Brookes’ work in the class centred on Asti V and also included Piccolo and Nancy.

Work on a Six Metre must be governed by the evidence for the individual yacht.
Structural repairs, deck arrangement, rig geometry and weight can affect how the boat measures and performs.
These projects required historical understanding and accurate performance boatbuilding rather than a generic classic-yacht treatment.
Asti V archive
Asti V had previously been configured for family cruising under the name Saxon.
The restoration removed later additions and returned the yacht to active sailing.
