PROJECT SUMMARY
Type
Portuguese beach boat
Restored
1989–90

Type and origins

Froggie belongs to a working-boat type shaped by practical local requirements.

Her form and construction demonstrate that historically important wooden boats are not limited to racing yachts.

Working craft also require an accurate understanding of how the boat was built and used.

Restoration scope
Froggie finished ashore

The restoration included opening the hull, renewing deteriorated structure and planking, and returning the boat to sailing condition.

The completed boat shows the direct relationship between work carried out inside the hull and performance on the water.
